LCHS TEACHER OF THE YEAR - MRS. SAVANNA KELLETT

Savanna Kellett is a high school social studies teacher from Leesburg.  Growing up in Lee County, Mrs. Kellett always knew she wanted to make an impact on her home community.  After graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Social Studies Education, Mrs. Kellett moved to the metro Atlanta area where she taught a variety of social studies courses for six years.  When given the opportunity to move back home, Mrs. Kellett jumped at the opportunity to give back to her alma mater.

Mrs. Kellett has been teaching thirteen years and currently teaches 10th grade AP World History and 12th grade AP European History at Lee County High School.  Recently, she completed her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University, was selected for the teacher yearbook dedication by the 2024 senior class at LCHS, and was selected for the Lee County Aspiring Leaders program.  Mrs. Kellett has been married to her husband, Jacob, for eight years and they have two wonderful children, Reese and Jack.  In her free time, she enjoys reading and going to Disney World.

More than anything, Mrs. Kellett believes that building a rapport with students and creating a positive learning environment are key to success in the classroom.  All students deserve the opportunity to experience environments where they feel valued and comfortable to learn.  Mrs. Kellett hopes that each of her students leaves her classroom with a greater understanding of history and the knowledge that they are valued.
