Lee County High School is proud to have Mr. Anthony Millsapp as our Teacher of the Year.  Originally from Acworth, Georgia, he moved to Southwest Georgia in 2006, where he began his second career in education. Throughout his twelve year tenure, he has taught nearly every course commonly offered in the English Department, and he currently teaches 11th Grade American Literature and Advanced Placement Language and Composition. Mr. Millsapp holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with Teacher Certification from Georgia Southwestern State University, a Master of Arts in English from Valdosta State University, and a Specialist in Secondary English Education from Georgia Southern University. Mr. Millsapp is married to Donna, his wife of 19 years, and they have one wonderful ten-year-old daughter, Maddie. When he’s not teaching, Mr. Millsapp enjoys reading, writing, drawing, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.

Mr. Millsapp is the first college graduate of his family, and he seeks to inspire his students to similarly pioneer their own way in life. While he is enthusiastic about sharing the love of his content, Mr. Millsapp realizes the importance of making meaningful connections with his students. Helping students to have a sense of belonging in the classroom is always his first priority - for without it authentic, long-lasting learning cannot occur.
